Automatic Transmission Servicing
Have you been told your transmission is "sealed for life"? Sadly many vehicles don't get their transmissions serviced due to this, which can lead to internal failure. Like most things that contain oil, that oil goes bad after a period of time and doesn't allow your transmission to function correctly. When you bring your car in for a transmission service, we road test your vehicle to check gear shifts are correct, your vehicle is then put on a hoist and checked for oil leaks and any wear and tear that may need to be addressed. The pan (if your vehicle has one) is removed and the oil is drained. If your vehicle has a reusable filter or gasket, these will be cleaned and refit, if they are not reusable then your old one will be inspected and discarded and then replaced with a new one. The transmission oil is replaced and we fit it all back together. We then do another road test to ensure your transmission is functioning correctly. Some vehicles do not have a pan, these we refer to as drain and fill vehicles, where we drain the transmission oil from a drain bung and then use pressurised oil to refill the transmission.
Diagnostic Checks
We understand that vehicles don't always like to behave. Our team can run diagnostics on your vehicle to get a clearer picture of what is going on. Diagnostic checks usually involve using a scan tool to connect to the computer in your vehicle. This allows us to get information about what is happening internally. The scan tools produce "codes" that refer to different components of the vehicle and allow us to know where their are faults. Not all cars will give us fault codes, so we often will carry out a road test as well, which allows our team to identify any problems in the function of the transmission, for example if the transmission is slipping or the torque converter isn't locking up.

Automatic Transmission Repairs and Rebuilds
We provide standard rebuilds and repairs on automatic transmissions. These are quite big, time consuming jobs and take a fair period of time to complete, so we have a waiting list. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please contact our office during business hours to discuss.
**please note we do not do cvt or dct rebuilds/repairs, however we can refer you to a local company that does**
Automatic Transmission Oil Coolers
Many of our 4wd vehicles these days aren't designed for our hotter climate, which causes the transmissions to run too hot. We can supply and fit transmission oil coolers which help to keep the transmission cooler. Installing a transmission oil cooler only requires the vehicle for the day, so you aren't without your vehicle for very long.
